Porsche 911s and 912s

Over the years, we have had the pleasure of working on a range of classic Porsche 911s, collaborating with both private customers and Porsche specialists. Our experience predominantly centres on the G body models from the 1970s and 1980s, including both Targa and Coupe variants. We have successfully undertaken conversions for left-hand drive and right-hand drive vehicles.

NEO Motor Installation

Each Porsche 911 we convert is powered by a NEO motor, available in either 160 kilowatt or 240 kilowatt configurations. The performance delivered by these electric motors far surpasses that of the original petrol engines. Notably, the 240kW motor produces up to 400bhp, enabling an impressive acceleration time of just 3.2 seconds from 0 to 60mph.

Battery Capacity and Range

Battery capacity for our conversions ranges from approximately 40 kWh to 70 kWh, tailored to meet the specific range requirements of each customer. Energy efficiency typically falls between 3.4 and 4.2 miles per kWh, resulting in a standard driving range of around 150 miles on a full charge.

Charging Infrastructure

All our converted 911s are equipped with CCS fast charging, operating at 70kW. This allows for a rapid charge time of roughly 30 minutes. For convenience and authenticity, the charging port is discreetly located within the original fuel filler flap.

Battery and Motor Mounting

The motor and rear battery are integrated on a subframe, which bolts directly into the existing engine and gearbox mounts. The front battery is securely attached to mounts on the lower section of the fuel tank. By splitting the battery pack evenly between the front and rear, more weight is distributed to the front axle compared to the original design, which enhances handling characteristics. Importantly, the total weight of a 44kWh, 160kW conversion is comparable to that of the original vehicle.

Driving Experience

We preserve the authentic driving experience by maintaining the original gear shifter and ensuring all gauges function and appear as they did in the classic model. From both the interior and exterior, it would be difficult to discern that the vehicle is now powered by electricity.

The NIO 160kW motor is a fully integrated drive unit with the motor inverter and reduction box in one unit.

The NIO 240kW motor is similar but a bigger unit requiring careful packaging for the diveshafts.
